If you keep more than one or two orchids, you have probably hit the same wall: it is impossible to remember when you last watered the Cattleya, whether the Phalaenopsis by the kitchen window got fed this month, or how long ago you repotted the Dendrobium into fresh bark. OrchidLog is a simple, private care journal that keeps a dated history for every plant in your collection — so your memory is no longer the bottleneck.

Why a written care log matters for orchids

Orchids reward consistency and punish guesswork. Most growers lose plants not to a dramatic event but to slow drift: overwatering because they could not remember the last soak, root rot from a medium that broke down two years ago, or a fertilizer routine that quietly lapsed over winter. Because orchids are epiphytes — many grow clinging to bark in the wild, not buried in soil — their roots need to dry between waterings and their potting medium degrades over time. A log turns those invisible cycles into something you can see.

What you can track

• Watered — with how long ago you last did it, per plant, front and center.
• Fertilized — note the feed (for example "1/4 strength MSU, weakly weekly").
