VaultPDF · private PDF tools
Extract text from a PDF, locally
You want the plain text out of a PDF — to quote it, search it, or feed it somewhere — but the document is confidential and you’d rather not hand it to a random web service. VaultPDF extracts the text right in your browser using the browser’s own PDF engine and hands you a .txt file. The PDF never leaves your machine.
How to extract PDF text without uploading
- Open the VaultPDF app.
- Drop in your PDF (or several).
- Optionally select just the pages you care about.
- Click
Text (.txt)— the extracted text downloads to your device, page by page.
Why do it locally
- No upload — confidential text isn’t exposed to any server.
- No account, no tracking — just the text, saved locally.
- Works offline — proof nothing is sent.
Note: this extracts the embedded text layer of a PDF. Scanned image-only PDFs need OCR, which a digital-text extractor can’t recover.
